Research on the Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) dimension has advanced significantly in the last fifteen years to the point where reliable and valid measures have been developed that are capable of being linked to psychopathological symptoms, even after controlling for the influence of the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) measure and Inattention. The more clinical perspective of LCL developed alongside ADHD but has reached the point where the possibility of its independence through Cognitive Disconnection and Hypoactivity Syndrome (CDHS) has been raised. The aim of this symposium is to analyze the links of TCL behaviors with some of the most prevalent symptoms and psychopathological disturbances in childhood and to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of conceptualizing the dimension in a clearly clinical perspective.<\/p>\n

Mateu Servera Barcel\u00f3 is Doctor in Psychology and Psychologist Specialist in Clinical Psychology. He is Full Professor in the area of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatments and Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands and researcher at the University Institute of Health Sciences Research (IUNICS) and the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IDISBA). His teaching is mainly on Child Psychopathology and his main line of research focuses on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Slow Cognitive Tempo. He has four recognized research periods, five five-year teaching periods, is the author of more than 80 scientific publications (40% in the 1st quartile of JCR journals), 24 collaborations in books and scientific papers, and more than 100 participations in congresses and scientific meetings.<\/p>\n
